Living Room/Kitchen Reveal

I LOVE our new kitchen and living room. I just walk around and feel SO happy. Not too much to clean, purple kitchen and wedding pictures all over. I don't know what it is about this little trailer we own, but I aboslutely love it. And it looks completely different then when I first saw it last spring.

Maybe it's the fact that its our first place, that we are learning to be married within it's walls, that I can hear him from any room in the trailer, or that I can sit on the couch and stare at him making dinner (or vise versa). It's beautiful. I am completely happy in our little place. We are so blessed to have a warm solid place, with a roof over our heads, laundry capabilities, two showers, dishwasher, gas range/oven and room for an office. Thank you Jesus.

P.S. - There are a few more things we'd like to do. Like finishing painting the cabinets white and install new hardware. And stain the little table we have on the right side of the chair that you can't see in these pictures. Just a few more things. :)

Just a teaser.
I finally have the living room/kitchen ALL redecorated.
So, this is a preview.

I will upload MORE photos soon.
As in, after I clean up the monstrous mess.

And the flowers?

My sweet husband blesses me SO much.
Every time I look at these flowers I feel loved.
And I smile.

The Bathroom Saga

Life has been chaotic lately. Actually, I think it's just my house that's chaotic, but somehow that always makes everything else seem crazy, too. SO much cleaning and organizing to do over the
next week that I'm off on vacation. I do have to go to work overnight tomorrow, but then I'm off until the next Saturday. :) Whoo.

Oh life....

I'm getting a piano and I decided to redo my bathroom with my Christmas money. I've uploaded pictures for you. I like the bathroom, but I don't think I'm in love with it. It's prettier than before. The right word would be "satisfied" and "content". I am satisfied and content with the bathroom. No more painting it. Because you know I did that twice. :)

Here you go!

The bathroom before...actually when I first moved in in 2004,
but it really didn't change that much.
I replaced the white plastic with a cute brown basket...but that's it.

The shower curtain....my first one that I ever bought actually.
It was $40 and I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond.
I used it for 5 years....so I think it was worth the money.
Although, I actually kept it turned to the opposite side most of the time
which was yellow, orange and pink thick stripes.

The redo!

The wall of pictures so you can see it.
And yes, that is a little cute $0.50 plant that I hope to keep alive.
I mean it's right beside the sink and water,
so I can't forget to water it, right? Right.

The beautiful rugs that match my shower curtain
that my mom bought me for Christmas.
Actually the towels in the picture above are from my mom, too.
I got a whole matching set of white and pink towels. Thanks Mom!

Close up of pictures.

More close ups. Do you see yourself in there anywhere?

And, some of my favorite people. :)
They are above my light switch.

Ikea Shelves with Chelsea (!!!)

Preparing to drill. Ready?

The actual drilling. I must admit,
it was really fun to drill holes in my wall.

Yay! One finished sturdy shelf!

Yay! TWO finished sturdy shelves!

Screwing in the screws manually.
Yes, I know that is not how you are supposed to hold a screwdriver.
It was working, ok? :)

Ta-da! Three finished sturdy shelves.
And before I moved my desk to be center under the shelf configuration.

Tonight. SOME stuff on the shelves,
but more stuff on the floor.

The finished product for tonight.
Final organizing and sorting will come over the next week.
This girl is tired...but happy.
I am going to sleep!

Another Room Finished

The Blue Room.
That's right, this new room is called....
"The Blue Room"

Because.

Here are some photos. Pretend you are standing in the middle of the room and turning in a 360 degree circle to your right. Fun!

Project Entry Way: Completed

After (literally) months of planning, replanning, designing, redesigning, approx 1,000 color swatches (j/k), and much help from family and friends, the entryway is complete and cleaned up.

The project entailed:

- painting the walls and wood work white.
- constructing 14 different wooden frames
- upholstering the frames with fabric
- spray painting all picture/mirror frames black
- installing a new blind
- updating light switch covers with black paint

I purchased everything for this project at 3 of my favorite store, Home Depot, Lowes, and Joann Fabrics. (Although I only went to Lowes because I had a coupon.) The entire entry way was completed on a very modest budget.

The bottom line: I love my entry way! It look so artsy, fresh and clean! I love it. I could not be happier with how it turned out.

Anyway, for those of you who have been patiently listening to my many plans to redecorate this room in my house, and for anyone else, I have uploaded more pictures to the slideshow at your right of the screen. If you want to see bigger pictures, just click on the slideshow!

Thank you to amazing wonderful mom, my very patient Dad, my sister Nichole, my roommate Nichole, and to my dedicated painters: Steve, Ricky and Maria. :) Thanks everyone!

When will you be free to do the living room...... ??
(I am just kidding! I probably won't want to start the living room until September, at least.)

Exciting Picture Update

Thursday morning, Jeanne and I went to the Art's festival downtown.
We walked across the Fort Pitt Bridge. It was lovely.

Thursday, I went to my brothers to meet his wife Kim.
These are the cute presents I wrapped for the babies.

Thursday night, I had my first oil painting class.
This was my view of the subject we had to paint. It was a lot harder than I expected.

This was my first attempt at oil painting.
The lines and perspective are a bit off. I am going to fix it. It's not finished yet.

Saturday, today, I had a "Painting Party" to paint my entry way.
This is the before.
Steve helped.

So did Maria.

And Ricky.

After. Six hours later, the finished project.
Thanks for helping me everyone!!
(Can you believe I actually painted something white?)

I'll post a picture post-decorating that is upcoming in the next 14 days.
(After Tuesday I'm off of work until the Forth of July. Whoo-hoo!)

the end.

The Brave Little Toaster

This morning I went yard sale-ing.

I had SO much fun. I got all the items I needed to redecorate my hallway and a few more items for my living room! SO much fun and very little money involved. In the end though, money didn't really matter because my favorite find of the day was free. A homeowner saw me looking at this movie and remarking on how this was my favorite movie when I was little, and she GAVE it to me. YES!

That move is, The Brave Little Toaster.

<---- See how awesome that movie is? Really. If you don't, you should go out and watch it. It's amazing. :) YAY! Anyway, my other awesome finds of the day include:

- two black designer lamp shades
- a green antiqued metal planter
- a bag full of yellow and gold artificial floral stems
- two picture frames
- a large basket with a handle
- one antique fireplace mantel that will become a hallway table
- one awesome mirror
- one very funny coffee table book
- one china teacup and saucer
- four small brightly colored bowls (yellow and blue)

Layout Change #2

I finished re-doing my blog!

(YAY with cheering!)

I decided I didn't need the Blogger Nav Bar, the background is fine, the titles don't need un-bolded, i found a header picture I liked off another template, and I can live with stock fonts. lol.

It took me 3 hours total laying with icepacks on my back with my laptop on my belly to get it how I want it. So, for now, this is how I want it. Hopefully, I won't be changing it up every three seconds. (But those of you who know me, know better. Really.)

Included on this blog are several nice (cool, i like 'em) features:

- Photos - Every week or so, I will post 10 new pictures to the photo slideshow of photos I love that are stored on my computer.
- Links! - You are now to privy to about 1/4 of the links in my bookmarks folder categorized
into nifty little subheadings. Yes, I like bookmarks.
- Comments - You can comment. (wtg blogger.) You just need a blogger or a Google account.
- Email it - if you especially like my post, you can click the little letter icon at the bottom of the post and email it to someone! Very nice.
- Archives - you will never miss or lose a post I wrote that you liked. Just click the month and it'll show you all the blog post titles for that month. Voila!

I am very excited about this new layout and I like it. (!)
Now, I am going to bed because it is very late and everyone should be sleeping.
the end.

Layout Change

I'm pretending to know HTML.

I found a layout I liked that I thought I could easily edit to suit me. So, I downloaded it, uploaded it and viewed it. I then proceeded to change one thing in the HTML, refresh the blog and see what changed. Then, if it was what I wanted, I'd change it to what I needed it to be. I did this over and over and OVER again.

Do you like the rough draft?

Here is what I learned:

No layout in HTML is "easy" to change. lol.

It took me an hour and a half to edit what I did tonight. I managed to change the colors of the links, change the font to a stock font, change the header picture to my yellow dots and change the color of the calendar dates.....yup, that's about it. (!!!)

oh my gosh. craziness.

BUT, I am enjoying myself. :)

I still want to:

1. Make a collage on a Photoshop program for the new header
2. Change the font of the blog and post titles
3. Add my old widgets back in
4. Possibly unbold the post titles (depends on which font I can get it to use)
5. Change the background color of the page (there are 3 sections and I'm tired.)
6. Make the Blogger Nav Bar come back! (!!!!!)
7. Make something GREEN on the page. (I like green today.)

So far, that's all. hehehe.

Last thought: I still need to figure out how to use a font that I downloaded instead of one that came with Microsoft Word. Any ideas?
