We bought a new camera!

So, Justin and I have both always wanted a decent SLR camera. We've been doing some research and snooping around a bit at sales and we finally found JUST the camera we wanted for a good price.

So we bought it!
And we love it!

So, of course, we've been taking pictures like crazy, figuring out all the settings and generally just messing around. We both LOVE to take pictures.

(And if any of you technical people are wondering what-in-the-world we bought, we bought a EOS Rebel T1i EF-S. It's pretty.)

New Photos

Hi all!

I just updated the photo slideshow to your right with some new photos from the last three weeks. I really love the colors in this bunch. Most of them are from an abandoned elementary school that sits about 500 yards behind my mom's house. Justin and I went exploring in it about three weeks ago. And no, we didn't break in, the door was unlocked. :)

Today I got to see one of my friend's baby girl!
[she was playing with my camera case that I made.]

She did not know what the heck to make of the camera
I kept setting in front of her, trying to get a good picture.
[I love this face.]

And here, I am just overwhelmed by her cuteness.

Then I went grocery shopping, where I found these CUTE baby eggplants!
[who even knew these existed?!?]

Just look at how cute they are!
[yes, I did buy one to bring home, just because of it's cuteness.]

And then I managed to break an egg trying to pick it up out of the carton.
[yes, I was already at home and have never had this happen to me before!]

Then I made some Chicken Cordon Bleu....and it was good.
[I went overboard on the mushrooms and onions. I like them!]

Random:

I ate soybeans today at work for the first time and liked them! Imagine that!!

Those little pods are hairy, too.

Does anyone know where I can download that cute little calendar page icon I used to have on my page?

I took all if not most of these in Cleveland at a lovely hotel and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Some pictures are beautiful simply because of the artists work in them. I don't take any credit at all for those. :)

I went Kayaking!

We had so much fun.

So, Pittsburgh has this thing called RADical Days and lots of stuff in and around Pittsburgh is free that day. Today there was free kayaking through Venture Outdoors. We drove up to North Park today and they gave us a life jacket, kayak and paddles all for free and let us go out on North Park Lake. (!!!)

It was amazing. So much fun....although our arms hurt now. :)

Pictures!

So my amazing roommate and I went walking around Crafton today. We each took our cameras and took some beautiful pictures. The neighborhood is full of cute little houses with sidewalks, huge front porches, amazing color choices and bea-u-ti-ful purple flower trees and dogwoods full in bloom. (happy sigh.) The day was a bit gray because it rained, but it was still so refreshing to be outside after a long winter. I love spring.

Birthday Present from Mum

I ordered a birthday present early, today!

I'm very excited! This year, my mom and I have teamed up (or rather my mom offered) to buy me a digital camera! This is very, very exciting, as I have never owned a digital camera (that worked).
