Modesty and Swimming

Swimsuits are a point of contention for me.

First of all, I hate shopping for them just as any normal woman does. They all seem too small, don't cover the important parts and they make me look pudgy. I am not pudgy. I object to little pieces of spandex and lycra making me feel inferior. I won't have it.

Second, I truly believe that as a Christian woman, there are certain things that ONLY my husband should see. This causes many shopping crisis. You see, a lot of those things are not covered by the average bathing suits available at the store. Not cool.

Thirdly, all of the bathing suits that DO cover those intimate parts are ugly. They are usually black, covered in huge tropical flower prints, with unflattering necklines and huge bunches of material around your butt in an effort to appear like a skirt. Um, I may want to be modest but I am not dead. I want to be modest AND cute! I think that is a reasonable request.

It seems that the industry has responded, at least a little bit. I am proud to announce that I have found some very reasonable, cute and modest swimsuits at Target this year. In fact, I've already bought one for myself. It's a cute polka dot black top with a halter strap and a swirly black skirt. I LOVE IT.

I thought you all might want some options this year, so I've checked out Target's site and found some cute modest suits for you!

This white and brown one piece with a skirt is cute!
I absolutely adore this bandeau one piece beauty. It comes in PLENTY of colors and is SO flattering. I loved it when I tried it on. What they don't show, is that it comes with a optional halter strap! YAY!
Paisley print one pieces are so cute.
Another great shirred bandeau option.

This page is all their tankinis. There are some GREAT options for modest coverage.
Finally, don't forget the skirts. They don't look awesome on the page, but they look SO cute on you!

Enjoy being covered and beautiful this summer!

Living Room/Kitchen Reveal

I LOVE our new kitchen and living room. I just walk around and feel SO happy. Not too much to clean, purple kitchen and wedding pictures all over. I don't know what it is about this little trailer we own, but I aboslutely love it. And it looks completely different then when I first saw it last spring.

Maybe it's the fact that its our first place, that we are learning to be married within it's walls, that I can hear him from any room in the trailer, or that I can sit on the couch and stare at him making dinner (or vise versa). It's beautiful. I am completely happy in our little place. We are so blessed to have a warm solid place, with a roof over our heads, laundry capabilities, two showers, dishwasher, gas range/oven and room for an office. Thank you Jesus.

P.S. - There are a few more things we'd like to do. Like finishing painting the cabinets white and install new hardware. And stain the little table we have on the right side of the chair that you can't see in these pictures. Just a few more things. :)

Lovely Update

First of all, sorry it's been so long.
The snow has not been helpful to my internet signal at my house.
At all.
In fact, it laughs in the face of my internet signal.
As in, I get no signal at all.

SO. I am in Justin's office today and will be trying to upload TONS of photos today and write all the posts that have been in my head over the past two weeks. I will try to schedule the posts to publish one day at a time so you'll have lots of fun things to read over the next few days.

I miss you all!

Living Room PREVIEW!

Just a teaser.
I finally have the living room/kitchen ALL redecorated.
So, this is a preview.

I will upload MORE photos soon.
As in, after I clean up the monstrous mess.

And the flowers?

My sweet husband blesses me SO much.
Every time I look at these flowers I feel loved.
And I smile.

Hi again.

Anyone know how it feels to have a hot cup of tea in your hands on a cold winter day? How therapeutic it is just to close your eyes, lean over the cup and let the warm steam waft by your face?

I do. And I consider it a small piece of heaven on some days. Like today.

The house is messy, we have mail that needs mailed, Christmas boxes are clogging up our living room, we JUST got out of our PJ's two hours ago, we have nothing defrosted for dinner or for lunch the next two days, wet laundry in the washer and dry laundry in the dryer, full dishwasher already filled with soap.

The house is nothing that we haven't created and are aware of. We are just not motivated today!

And on those days, at the end of them, we are usually wracked with crabbiness and guilt for having not been productive. But you know what? We've been going for a while now. Sometimes, it's ok to rest and relax. Spend time with Jesus. Read a book. Make a hair appointment. Stay in your PJ's all day. Sometimes it's good and when it's not, grace abounds.

"Who is He that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died - more than that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and it also interceding for us." Romans 8:34
